The 2016–2026 Triumph Bonneville T120 and Bonneville Bobber combine Triumph's 1200cc High Torque parallel twin engine with classic styling and modern ride-by-wire engine management. While these motorcycles deliver excellent torque and character in stock form, the factory ECU calibration can leave a significant amount of throttle response, horsepower, and usable performance untapped.

BT Moto developed our Stage 1+ ECU Flash Tune for the Triumph Bonneville T120 and Bobber as a true OEM+ tuning solution. No piggyback fuel controllers, tablets, unnecessary add-on electronics, or permanent modifications are required.

Instead, we recalibrate the factory Triumph ECU directly, allowing us to optimize electronic throttle control, fueling, ignition timing, torque management, RPM limits, speed limits, thermal management, deceleration behavior, and other strategies that determine how the motorcycle actually performs.

One of the biggest opportunities on many Bonneville calibrations is the factory electronic throttle strategy. Depending on model year, ECU software, riding mode, RPM, and operating conditions, the ECU can command less than full throttle even when the rider is requesting maximum acceleration.

BT Moto recalibrates these strategies to allow up to 100% throttle opening where appropriate, providing stronger acceleration, better midrange response, substantially improved upper RPM performance, and a more direct connection between the throttle grip and engine.

Best of all, the BT Moto Handheld Tuner allows you to read and flash your Bonneville ECU from the comfort of your own home or shop and return the motorcycle to its original stock calibration whenever needed.

REMOVE THE FACTORY BONNEVILLE THROTTLE RESTRICTIONS

Modern ride-by-wire motorcycles do not necessarily give the rider the same throttle body opening being requested at the throttle grip.

The Triumph Bonneville ECU can control engine output through a combination of electronic throttle valve mapping, torque limits, riding modes, fueling, ignition timing, RPM, gear, and other engine management strategies.

Depending on the model year and factory calibration, some Bonneville T120 and Bobber models are substantially more restricted than others.

This means twisting the throttle completely open does not always result in the throttle bodies being commanded completely open.

BT Moto addresses these restrictions directly inside the factory ECU.

Where supported, we recalibrate the electronic throttle strategy to allow up to 100% throttle opening while also correcting the related torque, fueling, and ignition strategies required to properly support the additional airflow and engine output.

The result is stronger acceleration, better throttle response, and dramatically improved upper RPM performance on the more heavily restricted calibrations.

DYNO PROVEN 2026 TRIUMPH BOBBER PERFORMANCE

BT Moto's Bonneville Stage 1+ ECU calibration has been developed using extensive full throttle and partial throttle Dynojet testing.

Our 2026 Triumph Bonneville Bobber development bike was tested in 5th gear using 93 octane pump gasoline.

100% THROTTLE

Stock:
69 WHP / 73 WTQ

BT Moto Stage 1+:
75 WHP / 74 WTQ

Peak-to-peak output increases by approximately 6 wheel horsepower, but that number does not show the full effect of the ECU derestriction.

As RPM increases, the stock calibration can begin significantly reducing available engine output. The difference between the stock and BT Moto calibrations therefore becomes much larger in portions of the upper RPM range, with testing showing gains approaching 30 wheel horsepower where the stock calibration becomes most restrictive.

This is why the difference from the rider's seat can feel substantially larger than the peak horsepower numbers alone suggest.

PARTIAL THROTTLE DYNO TESTING

A motorcycle spends far more time at partial throttle than it does at 100% throttle, so BT Moto develops the calibration throughout the usable throttle range rather than focusing only on a full throttle dyno pull.

75% THROTTLE

Stock:
63 WHP / 72 WTQ

BT Moto Stage 1+:
70 WHP / 73 WTQ

50% THROTTLE

Stock:
35 WHP / 56 WTQ

BT Moto Stage 1+:
46 WHP / 64 WTQ

At 50% throttle, that's approximately 11 additional wheel horsepower and 8 lb ft of wheel torque.

25% THROTTLE

Stock:
6 WHP / 18 WTQ

BT Moto Stage 1+:
9 WHP / 22 WTQ

These partial throttle improvements are especially important for street riding because they affect the conditions riders actually use during normal acceleration, passing, corner exits, and roll-on throttle.

Rather than simply creating a larger full throttle dyno number, the Stage 1+ calibration improves how the motorcycle responds throughout the usable throttle range.

Published dyno testing was performed on a 2026 Triumph Bonneville Bobber using 93 octane pump gasoline. Results vary based on model year, ECU software, motorcycle configuration, fuel quality, environmental conditions, and installed modifications. Lower octane fuel may produce smaller gains.

MORE THAN PEAK HORSEPOWER

The Bonneville 1200 platform is designed around strong low and midrange torque, so peak horsepower alone does not tell the full story.

A properly developed Bonneville T120 or Bobber ECU tune should improve how the motorcycle responds throughout normal riding.

By recalibrating the electronic throttle, torque management, fueling, ignition, and deceleration strategies, BT Moto creates a more direct and predictable relationship between rider input and engine output.

The result is stronger roll-on acceleration, improved midrange torque, better partial throttle response, and substantially stronger high RPM performance.

BETTER THROTTLE RESPONSE AND RIDEABILITY

Maximum horsepower is only one part of the Stage 1+ calibration.

BT Moto develops the throttle, fueling, ignition, and torque strategies throughout the operating range to improve the motorcycle during everyday riding as well as full throttle acceleration.

The result is smoother and more responsive throttle behavior, stronger midrange acceleration, and more predictable power delivery.

We also smooth the factory injector cut off strategy to reduce the overly aggressive deceleration that can occur when closing the throttle.

This provides a cleaner transition between acceleration and deceleration while retaining the engine braking character expected from Triumph's 1200cc parallel twin.

COOLER AND MORE CONSISTENT ENGINE TEMPERATURES

BT Moto also recalibrates the factory thermal management strategies to help the Bonneville operate at more favorable and consistent temperatures.

Our Stage 1+ calibration includes earlier cooling fan activation, allowing the cooling system to begin managing engine temperature sooner than with the factory calibration.

This can be especially beneficial during traffic, low speed riding, hot weather operation, and other situations where natural airflow through the radiator is reduced.

RAISED RPM AND TOP SPEED LIMITS

Where appropriate, the BT Moto Stage 1+ calibration increases the usable RPM range of the Bonneville 1200 engine.

The extended RPM range provides a wider usable powerband and additional road speed in each gear.

Factory top speed restrictions are also increased or removed where supported for appropriate closed course performance use.

CUSTOM TUNING FOR SUPPORTED MODIFICATIONS

Whether your Bonneville T120 or Bobber is completely stock or equipped with supported performance modifications, your BT Moto calibration can be configured specifically for your motorcycle.

We support a variety of proven aftermarket exhaust systems, air filters, intake configurations, and other performance modifications.

Rather than supplying one generic tune for every possible combination, BT Moto matches the calibration to your motorcycle's specific model year, ECU software, fuel, and installed modifications.

If your supported configuration changes in the future, an updated calibration can be supplied remotely through the BT Moto Handheld Tuner.

OEM+ ECU TUNING, NOT A PIGGYBACK

Our goal with the Bonneville T120 and Bobber was to create a true OEM+ ECU tuning solution.

There is no piggyback fuel controller to install, no tablet that needs to remain part of the tuning system, and no additional wiring harness attempting to manipulate factory sensor signals.

BT Moto modifies the calibration inside the factory Triumph ECU itself.

This gives us direct access to the electronic throttle, fueling, ignition, torque, RPM, speed limiter, thermal management, and deceleration strategies that actually determine how the motorcycle performs.

The factory ECU and integrated electronics remain in control, they're simply operating with a properly optimized calibration.

Factory fit and finish. More usable performance. No unnecessary hardware.

TUNE YOUR BONNEVILLE FROM HOME

The BT Moto Handheld Tuner allows you to read and flash your Triumph Bonneville T120 or Bobber ECU from the comfort of your own garage or shop.

Once your motorcycle's original ECU information has been read, BT Moto provides the appropriate Stage 1+ calibration for your specific motorcycle and modification combination.

The handheld allows you to store multiple ECU files, read and clear diagnostic trouble codes, receive updated calibrations remotely, and return your motorcycle to its original stock calibration whenever needed.

If you change a supported exhaust, intake, or another modification in the future, an updated calibration can be supplied without repeatedly removing or shipping your ECU.

RETURN TO STOCK AT ANY TIME

One of the biggest advantages of the BT Moto Handheld Tuner is the ability to restore your motorcycle's original ECU calibration whenever needed.

This gives you flexibility for service, resale, future modifications, or simply returning the motorcycle to its original configuration.

You aren't permanently locked into one tune and you don't need external tuning hardware permanently installed on the motorcycle.

No piggyback. No tablet required. No permanent modification. No unnecessary complexity.

More power. Better throttle response. Stronger partial throttle performance. Factory level integration.

CHECK YOUR CONNECTOR BEFORE ORDERING
