The Suzuki Hayabusa has been a staple of the motorcycle performance world since its introduction in 1999. When riders think of a fast, high performance sportbike, the Hayabusa is still one of the first names that comes to mind.
With the introduction of the Gen 3 Suzuki Hayabusa, Suzuki brought major updates to the platform along with additional factory ECU restrictions. Due to customer demand and the limitations we saw with other tuning solutions on the market, BT Moto set out to develop a more complete and refined Hayabusa ECU flash.
After months of R&D on both the dyno and the street, we developed a calibration focused not only on peak horsepower, but also on overall rideability, throttle response, consistency, and usable power throughout the RPM range.
Whether you're riding from light to light, cruising through traffic, making highway pulls, or racing at the track, the difference can be felt throughout the bike. Our Stage 1+ Hayabusa tune addresses factory restrictions while improving power delivery, throttle response, fueling, and overall smoothness.
Our in house dyno testing shows how much performance is available from the Gen 3 Suzuki Hayabusa when the ECU calibration and airflow are properly optimized.
In stock configuration on 93 octane pump fuel, our Hayabusa produced 170 WHP and 103 WTQ. With the BT Moto Stage 1+ ECU Flash and BT Moto Velocity Stacks, output increased to 187 WHP and 109 WTQ.
STOCK: 170 WHP / 103 WTQ
STAGE 1+ BT MOTO VELOCITY STACKS: 187 WHP / 109 WTQ
PEAK GAIN: +17 WHP / +6 WTQ
With the Stage 1+ calibration, BT Moto Velocity Stacks, and the VP performance fuel configuration shown in our dyno testing, output increased further to 197 WHP and 114 WTQ.
STOCK: 170 WHP / 103 WTQ
STAGE 1+ BT MOTO VELOCITY STACKS + VP FUEL: 197 WHP / 114 WTQ
PEAK GAIN: +27 WHP / +11 WTQ
We also tested the BT Moto Stage 1+ calibration with a Brock's Performance exhaust. Compared to the stock baseline of 170 WHP / 103 WTQ, this configuration produced 183 WHP / 110 WTQ for a peak improvement of +13 WHP / +7 WTQ.
Peak horsepower only tells part of the story. Our velocity stack testing also showed gains of up to approximately 20 WHP in portions of the upper RPM range, demonstrating the significant airflow improvement available even when the peak to peak horsepower difference is smaller.
See the Dyno Results tab above for the complete dyno graphs and individual configuration comparisons.
The Gen 3 Hayabusa's factory ECU uses multiple strategies that can limit performance and change how the motorcycle responds depending on gear, riding mode, throttle position, RPM, and operating conditions.
These strategies include electronic throttle limitations, gear dependent ignition retard, fueling and lambda targets, top speed restrictions, deceleration behavior, quickshifter settings, and temperature based compensation strategies.
Rather than making only a few broad adjustments, BT Moto develops the calibration around the ECU strategies that actually control how the motorcycle delivers power.
Peak horsepower is only one part of a properly developed motorcycle ECU calibration. A Hayabusa spends much of its time operating at partial throttle, which is why our development isn't focused solely on producing the largest number during a 100% throttle dyno pull.
BT Moto calibrates fueling, ignition, lambda targets, electronic throttle behavior, deceleration strategies, and other ECU functions throughout the usable throttle and RPM range.
The result is a Hayabusa that doesn't just perform better at wide open throttle. It delivers smoother response, stronger usable power, better throttle control, and improved rideability during normal street riding as well.
A completely stock Gen 3 Hayabusa will benefit from ECU tuning, particularly through improved throttle response, restriction removal, and overall rideability. However, our testing showed that the largest horsepower gains come when the ECU flash is paired with our BT Moto Velocity Stacks.
Our velocity stacks were developed specifically for the Gen 3 Hayabusa to improve airflow and increase performance in areas where the factory intake configuration becomes restrictive.
This allows us to improve the mechanical airflow of the engine rather than relying solely on increasingly aggressive ECU calibration to chase additional horsepower.
WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND PAIRING THE BT MOTO STAGE 1+ ECU FLASH WITH OUR VELOCITY STACKS FOR MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE.
Our testing has shown gains of up to approximately 20 WHP in portions of the RPM range from the BT Moto Velocity Stacks alone, with additional performance available when properly combined with our ECU calibration.
See the Dyno Results tab for before and after testing and performance comparisons.
Our goal with the Gen 3 Hayabusa was never to create a calibration that only looks good on a dyno graph.
The motorcycle is tested and refined through a combination of dyno development and real world riding so that changes made at full throttle also work properly during normal street use.
From low speed throttle transitions and part throttle cruising to high RPM acceleration, the calibration is developed as a complete package.
BT Moto ECU Flash + BT Moto Velocity Stacks in partnership with Brock's Performance.
The performance of the Gen 3 Hayabusa platform goes beyond dyno development. BT Moto ECU calibration and velocity stacks have also been used in competitive Super Stock applications.
Performance claims are easy to make. BT Moto backs our Suzuki Hayabusa ECU tuning with extensive dyno testing, real world development, proven performance, and experience developing high performance motorcycle ECU calibrations.
Our goal is to provide a complete tuning solution that improves more than a peak horsepower number. We focus on the ECU strategies that affect how the motorcycle accelerates, responds to throttle input, shifts, manages temperature, and delivers power throughout the usable RPM range.

The dyno results below are from a 2022 Suzuki Hayabuya tested at our facility in Massachusetts. This bike has no modifications (other than stipulated) and is on 93 octane pump gas. You can see gains through the entire RPM range from down low to up high. The deeper the bike gets into the RPM range, the more power you get. You can see the stacks make a lot of power up top with clearly no losses down low. Results tested same day, same dyno, back to back.
RED = Factory Tuning, 93 Pump Gas: 170WHP / 103WTQ
BLUE = BT Moto Stage 1, 93 Pump Gas, BT Moto Stacks: 187WHP/ 109WTQ
GREEN = BT Moto Stage 1, VP Fuel, BT Moto Stacks: 197WHP/ 114WTQ

The dyno results below are from a 2022 Suzuki Hayabusa tested at our facility in Massachusetts. The baseline has no modifications and the after results are our stacks only. NO FLASH. Just stacks. This shows how poorly the stock Hayabusa stacks are designed. Yes, without tuning there is some loss in the mid range but up top we gain 20whp. Again, this is completely stock tuning with our stacks.
RED = Factory Tuning, 93 Pump Gas: 183WHP / 110WTQ
BLUE = Factory Tuning, 93 Pump Gas, BT Moto Stacks: 187WHP/ 109WTQ

The dyno results below are from a 2022 Suzuki Hayabusa tested at our facility in Massachusetts. The red line is a completely stock baseline and the blue line is our Stage 1 flash with Brock's exhaust. You can see the gains are significant, and the higher you get to redline, the more power the bike gains.
RED = Factory Tuning, 93 Pump Gas: 170WHP / 103WTQ
BLUE = BT Moto Stage 1, 93 Pump Gas: 183WHP/ 110WTQ

**All runs performed same day, back to back on an independent DynoJet**
**Testing performed with California ACN 91 octane pump gas. Usage of a lower octane will yield smaller power gains. Higher octane larger gains**
