The 2017–2023 Triumph Street Triple 765 S, R, and RS are incredibly capable middleweight motorcycles, but the factory ECU calibration can leave a significant amount of performance untapped, particularly on the more heavily restricted S and R models.
BT Moto developed our Stage 1+ ECU Flash Tune for the Triumph Street Triple 765 and Daytona Moto2 765 as a true OEM+ performance solution. No piggyback fuel controllers, unnecessary add-ons, or permanent modifications are required.
Instead, we recalibrate the factory Triumph ECU directly, allowing us to optimize the electronic throttle, fueling, ignition timing, RPM limiter, speed limiter, thermal management, deceleration strategies, and other engine management tables that determine how the 765cc triple actually performs.
The result is more horsepower and torque, stronger acceleration, improved throttle response, a broader usable powerband, smoother deceleration, and better overall rideability.
Best of all, tuning is completed using the BT Moto Handheld Tuner, allowing you to read and flash your motorcycle from home and return it to the original stock calibration whenever needed.
One of the most important areas we address on the 2017–2023 Triumph Street Triple 765 is the factory electronic throttle strategy.
Modern ride-by-wire motorcycles do not necessarily give the rider the same throttle body opening that is being requested at the throttle grip. The ECU can reduce throttle opening based on RPM, gear, riding conditions, and the specific model calibration.
This is especially important on the Street Triple 765 S and R.
These models were delivered with lower factory output than the RS and use more restrictive engine management strategies. Because of this, properly recalibrating the electronic throttle and related torque strategies can produce a particularly noticeable improvement.
The Street Triple 765 RS is less restricted from the factory, but still benefits significantly from optimized fueling, ignition timing, throttle control, RPM limits, and other ECU strategies.
BT Moto addresses these restrictions directly inside the factory ECU instead of attempting to work around them with an external device.
The result is stronger acceleration, improved midrange performance, better throttle response, and substantially better high RPM power delivery.
Not every Triumph 765 uses the same factory calibration, which means the gains available from ECU tuning can vary between models.
The earlier Street Triple 765 S was factory rated at approximately 111 HP, while the Street Triple 765 R was rated at approximately 116 HP. Both models use more restrictive factory engine management strategies than the higher output RS.
Because of these differences, S and R owners can see particularly significant improvements when the restrictive throttle and engine management strategies are properly recalibrated.
The Street Triple 765 RS starts with a more performance oriented factory calibration, but proper ECU tuning still improves throttle response, fueling, ignition, RPM range, midrange acceleration, and overall power delivery.
Every BT Moto calibration is matched to the specific motorcycle rather than treating every 765 model as if it uses the same ECU strategy.
BT Moto's Triumph Street Triple 765 ECU tune was developed through extensive dyno testing and ECU calibration analysis.
Our development focuses on more than simply producing the highest possible number during a 100% throttle dyno run.
We optimize the strategies that affect performance throughout the usable RPM and throttle range so the motorcycle responds better during the conditions riders actually experience on the street and track.
Our documented testing has produced approximately 130 WHP / 61 WTQ on a tuned 765 configuration, demonstrating the performance capability available from the platform with proper calibration.
Actual results vary depending on model, motorcycle configuration, fuel quality, installed modifications, dyno type, and environmental conditions.
Dyno numbers are useful for development, but real world acceleration is ultimately what matters.
BT Moto customer @triumph_699 tested his 2020 Triumph Daytona Moto2 765 at the drag strip before and after receiving the BT Moto ECU calibration.
Before BT Moto ECU Flash:
10.3 second quarter mile
After BT Moto ECU Flash on 93 Octane:
9.9 seconds @ 148 MPH
Breaking into the 9 second quarter mile range demonstrates what proper throttle derestriction and ECU calibration can do beyond simply improving a dyno graph.
Drag-strip performance varies significantly based on rider, motorcycle setup, track conditions, weather, elevation, fuel, tires, gearing, and modifications. Individual results are not guaranteed.
Maximum horsepower is only one part of a properly developed Triumph 765 ECU tune.
BT Moto recalibrates the electronic throttle, fueling, ignition, torque, and deceleration strategies throughout the operating range to create a more direct and predictable relationship between rider input and engine response.
The result is stronger midrange acceleration, improved on throttle response, smoother power delivery, and a wider usable powerband.
We also smooth the factory injector cut off strategy to reduce the excessively aggressive deceleration found in the stock calibration.
That means the tune improves how the motorcycle feels during normal riding, corner entry and exit, roll-on acceleration, and track use — not just during a full throttle dyno pull.
Our goal with the Triumph 765 platform is to improve the motorcycle using the sophisticated engine management system Triumph already engineered into it.
There are no piggyback fuel controllers to install, no additional wiring harnesses, and no external tuning modules manipulating sensor signals.
BT Moto modifies the calibration inside the factory Triumph ECU itself.
This gives us direct access to the electronic throttle, fueling, ignition, torque, RPM, speed limiter, thermal management, deceleration, and other strategies that actually determine engine performance.
Whether your Street Triple 765 or Daytona Moto2 765 is completely stock or equipped with supported exhaust, intake, or other performance modifications, your calibration can be configured specifically for your setup.
Factory fit and finish. More performance. No unnecessary hardware.
The BT Moto Handheld Tuner allows you to read and flash your Triumph 765 ECU from the comfort of your own garage or shop.
Once your original ECU information has been read, BT Moto provides the appropriate calibration for your motorcycle and modification combination.
The handheld allows you to store multiple ECU files, read and clear diagnostic trouble codes, receive updated calibrations remotely, and return your motorcycle to its original stock calibration whenever needed.
If you change your exhaust, air filter, or another supported modification in the future, an updated calibration can be supplied without repeatedly removing or shipping your ECU.
No piggyback. No permanent modification. No unnecessary complexity.
Some 2023 Triumph Street Triple 765 motorcycles sold outside the United States and Canada may use the newer EU5 style ECU found on the later generation 765 platform.
Before ordering, check the diagnostic connector located under the motorcycle's seat.
If your 2023 motorcycle has the red 6 pin connector, please order the appropriate newer generation 765 ECU tuning package instead.
This BT Moto calibration is 50 state legal under California Air Resources Board Executive Order D-868-18 when used in accordance with the approved application and configuration.
