The 2021–2023 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR and RS are incredibly capable motorcycles, but the factory ECU calibration leaves a surprising amount of performance untapped.
BT Moto developed our Stage 1+ ECU Flash Tune for the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR / RS as a true OEM+ solution. No piggyback fuel controllers, external tuning modules, unnecessary add-ons, or permanent modifications are required.
Instead, we recalibrate the factory Triumph ECU directly, allowing us to properly optimize the electronic throttle, fueling, ignition timing, RPM limiters, speed limiters, thermal management, and other strategies that determine how the engine actually delivers its power.
One of the most significant restrictions we identified is the factory electronic throttle strategy. Under certain high RPM operating conditions, the stock calibration can command only approximately 68% throttle opening even when the rider is requesting full throttle.
Our Stage 1+ calibration addresses this restriction and allows the engine to continue delivering substantially more of its available performance through the upper RPM range.
Modern motorcycle performance is controlled by far more than fuel and ignition timing.
The Speed Triple 1200 ECU continuously determines engine output using a combination of electronic throttle control, requested torque, fueling, ignition, RPM limits, gear dependent strategies, and other engine management tables.
This means that even when the rider twists the throttle completely open, the ECU may not allow the throttle bodies to deliver the same request to the engine.
On the Speed Triple 1200, we found significant electronic throttle restriction in the factory calibration, particularly as the engine approaches the upper RPM range.
BT Moto recalibrates these strategies directly inside the factory ECU rather than attempting to work around them with an external device.
The result is stronger acceleration, better throttle response, improved midrange performance, and dramatically stronger power delivery as the engine approaches redline.
Our Triumph Speed Triple 1200 Stage 1+ calibration was independently tested on a completely stock 2022 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 using California 91 octane pump gasoline.
Factory ECU, 91 Octane:
149 WHP / 86 WTQ
BT Moto Stage 1+, 91 Octane:
170 WHP / 91 WTQ
That's an increase of approximately 21 wheel horsepower at peak on a completely stock motorcycle with pump gasoline.
However, the peak number doesn't tell the whole story.
As RPM increases, the factory ECU becomes increasingly restrictive. By recalibrating the electronic throttle and extending the usable RPM range, the BT Moto calibration produces an even larger performance advantage near the top of the powerband.
In our testing, the difference approached 30 wheel horsepower near redline compared with the factory calibration.
That additional upper RPM performance combines with improved midrange response to create a motorcycle that feels substantially stronger throughout real world acceleration.
Dyno results shown were obtained from a 2022 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 tested at an independent dealer facility in San Diego, California on 91 octane pump gasoline. Results can vary based on motorcycle configuration, fuel quality, environmental conditions, and installed modifications.
Simply increasing peak horsepower was not our only goal.
A proper Speed Triple 1200 ECU tune should improve how the motorcycle responds everywhere — from initial throttle input through midrange acceleration and all the way to redline.
By recalibrating the factory throttle and torque strategies, the rider gets a much more direct relationship between throttle input and engine response.
The result is stronger roll on acceleration, improved corner exit response, a broader usable powerband, and significantly better high RPM performance.
We also smooth the factory injector cut off strategy to reduce the overly aggressive deceleration behavior found in the stock calibration, improving overall rideability both on the street and at the track.
Our goal with the Speed Triple 1200 was to create an OEM+ performance calibration that works with the sophisticated electronics Triumph already engineered into the motorcycle.
There are no piggyback fuel controllers to install, no additional wiring harnesses, and no external tuning modules attempting to manipulate sensor signals.
BT Moto modifies the calibration inside the factory ECU itself.
This gives us access to the electronic throttle, fueling, ignition, torque, RPM, speed limiter, thermal management, and other strategies that actually control engine performance.
Whether your Speed Triple 1200 RR or RS is completely stock or equipped with a supported exhaust, air filter, or other performance modifications, your calibration can be configured specifically for your setup.
The BT Moto Handheld Tuner allows you to read and flash your Triumph Speed Triple 1200 ECU from the comfort of your own garage or shop.
Once your original ECU information has been read, BT Moto provides the appropriate calibration for your motorcycle and modification combination.
The handheld allows you to store multiple ECU files, read and clear diagnostic trouble codes, receive updated calibrations remotely, and return your motorcycle to its original stock calibration whenever needed.
If you change your exhaust, air filter, or another supported modification in the future, an updated tune can be supplied without repeatedly removing or shipping your ECU.
No piggyback. No permanent modification. No unnecessary complexity.
More horsepower. Better throttle response. A wider powerband. Factory level integration.
This BT Moto calibration is 50 state legal under California Air Resources Board Executive Order D-868-18 when used in accordance with the approved application and configuration.

The dyno results below are from a 2022 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 tested at a dealer facility in San Diego, CA. This bike has no modifications and is on 91 octane pump gas. You can see gains through the entire RPM range from down low to up high. The deeper the bike gets into the RPM range, the more power you get, at redline we gained almost 30WHP. We safely extend the RPM to give a broader powerband for less shifts at the track and more useable power.
RED = Factory Tuning, 91 Pump Gas: 149WHP / 86WTQ
BLUE = BT Moto Stage 1, 91 Pump Gas: 170WHP/ 91WTQ
