The BT Moto Stage 1+ Performance ECU calibration for the 13-14 BMW S1000RR HP4 is a game changer. We have studied and worked on hundreds of these limited edition motorcycles for the last 10 years, aligning ourselves with racers and street riders to fully maximize the bike in every capacity. We have HP4 specific DDC changes which allow the bike to ride and handle better along with our well known HP increases, throttle restriction removal, shifter improvements and cooler running temps. The HP4 is a great bike out of the box, we make it even better with our ECU Flash!


ADVANTAGES WITH OUR STAGE 1 FLASH:

  • Healthy Bikes on average gain up to 10WHP and 20WHP on better fuels.
  • Much more aggressive and faster quickshifter.
  • Better cooling through lower fan temp adjustments.
  • Custom ignition timing and knock strategy for almost all fuels.
  • Conversion to "Alpha-N" fueling model, with modified fueling and lambda for best power and response.
  • Factory throttle limiters removed and flat spots and throttle response increased greatly.
  • Engine braking modified in all modes.
  • Speed and rev-limit raised for maximum performance.
  • Smoothing of the part throttle ridability and idle on and off the track without bucking and jerking found in factory tune.
  • Aggressive ABS / DTC / Wheelie control and bike intervention for more experienced rider looking to shave seconds off their laps.
  • Reshaped torque model for more power at all RPM's part or full-throttle sooner for power.

CHANGES VS THE STANDARD S1000RR FOR THE HP4!

As far as HP4 ECU/DDC specific mapping that caters to this special bike, this is what we have access to and map ON TOP of our normal changes:

  • Recalibration of the air mass table at all loads for the specific HP4 factory exhaust.
  • Individual HP4 Spec Relative cylinder filing cylinder 1-4 for HP4 motor/exhaust.
  • 3 different Launch control modifications, including removal of torque limiting aggressive start, cool down removal, traction and wheelie nanny modification.
  • 8 DDC suspension map settings adjusted in race and slick to remove the pogo stick / soft setting to BMW M PP race specs.
  • HP4 specific engine braking restriction removal per their unique ECU desired load.

The suspension and LC changes provide a completely different riding experience. Along with an increase in power and restriction removal, this really makes this modification a slam dunk on a bike that is already setup extremely well from the factory.


HOW WE ACCOMPLISH THIS WITH OUR FLASH

  • ALPHA-N FUELING  Alpha-N is a different type of fueling strategy used by motorsport racing teams and OEM manufacturers alike. It’s a means of tuning using a fuel look up table and throttle position. The advantages of Alpha-N are simple: more relative filing (power), accurate fueling at any throttle angle, razor sharp throttle response with lambda trimming and full ECU control, engine smoothness and of course, increased horsepower.
  • IGNITION – Optimized to make the most power while still being safe and reliable. We set the map up so that a single map will work on different octane fuels. The better the fuel, the more power the bike will make with no changes needed from the end user.
  • THROTTLE DERESTRICTION – Giving you the ability to utilize 100% of the throttle is paramount in track situations where you need all the power you can get on demand. The factory file has dead zones per gear that kills the bikes power curve when it should be making the most. This also means any kind of straight line acceleration also suffers. We remove these factory restrictions to ensure a smooth and predictable throttle, all the way to redline.
  • LOWER FAN-ON TEMP – Let’s face it, this bike rides a little on the hot side. To help not only the riders enjoyment but also keep the engine slightly cooler, we’ve lowered the fan-on temps. Cooler temps result in a more consistent and powerful motorcycle.
  • INCREASED RPM LIMITER (at customer request) – We raised the stock RPM limiter and after years of in-depth testing, we have found zero negative side effects. This helps you stay in the powerband longer and reduces the need to shift at the track.

Stage 1 Tune for 2013 BMW HP4

After a month of reading reviews and getting feedback from my friends with their s1000's, I decided to order the Stage one tune for my HP. It is crazy what a difference this tune makes. Using the handheld is super easy as long as you watch the videos and follow the instructions. The bike feels completely different in almost every aspect. The changes to the DDC make the bike ride like butter. The power delivery is way more smooth and it pulls way more hard. I am definitely glad I ordered this tune and I am excited for my first few track days with it. I feel way more comfortable on the bike now as well.

I bought my handheld with stage 1 tune and a GS911 in June 2022 and the shipment was very quick (within a week!). Then you guys helped with providing the tuning file and I uploaded it to the handheld, but did not flash the bike since then as life got in the way with one thing after another. Today, I installed my Akra full exhaust and flashed the ecu. Washed the bike and went for a ride. I was smiling so hard my head was pushing against the inside of the helmet and it hurt! The bike feels amazing and just wants to wheelie when you open up the taps. It is unf**kinbelivable. Just wanted to thank you as I've been a returning customer and you have managed to continue to provide a service I could appreciate. Cheers, Nima

My HP4 has never been better

8 years with this bike stock, It's a forever keeper and all original. My buddy twisted my arm into trying this brentune, and i wish i could have gotten it 8 years ago. What a tremendous difference with the traction control, ddc, and engine power. My bike picked up 11whp on the dyno with no other mods and is fantasic on the racing circuit now. I love love love the difference. I put it back to stock with the handheld tuner the other day, and boy was i disappointed. This is a must have hp4 modification. HP4 #232
