Through careful testing of the Stock ECU and Aprilia Race ECU calibrations, we were able to find 22 power maps and limiters holding back the otherwise stout 100HP powerplant. While the Tuono version is rated for 94HP, the final tuned number will be the same as the RS 660. That means bigger gains for the Tuono as it's more restricted than the RS 660.
With full in-person datalogging in our closed dyno cell, riding the bike on the street, and GPS speed testing, we were able to find what the engine really liked and disliked. Through careful logging of ignition timing, per cylinder fueling and thermal management limiters, we were able to write an excellent file that is powerful in all temperatures and covers all octanes.
Our Stage 1 Aprilia RS 660 ECU flash converts the bike to full “Alpha-N” fueling and utilizes the factory oxygen sensors for precise fuel corrections on and off throttle. Improvements in throttle response, rideability, cruising and of course, power, were all immediately apparent. 60-130MPH testing found a full second improvement from stock to flashed.

The dyno results below are from a 2021 Aprilia RS 660 tested in Southern California. The bike was running 91 octane pump gas. You can see gains through the midrange that progresses more and more up top. You can see there's an extra two thousand RPM where the bike is carrying A LOT more power than the stock mapping. No changes were made to this bike other than flashing it with Stage 1. Results tested same day, same dyno, back to back. Keep in mind the Tuono version will see larger gains as it is more restricted than the RS 660.

The below dyno is a popular UpMap vs our Stage 1 tuning. You can see the UpMap actually makes less power than stock, but also extends the RPM more than stock as well. We were a little baffled how the UpMap made less peak power than stock.
