The 2023+ CFMOTO 450SS, Ibex 450, and 450CL-C have quickly become some of CFMOTO's most popular platforms. With strong engines, modern Bosch electronics, and excellent potential for modification, we saw an opportunity to develop a tuning solution that improves performance without sacrificing the refinement and reliability of the factory motorcycle.

The BT Moto Stage 1 ECU Flash is an OEM+ calibration developed specifically for the Bosch engine-management system used on the CFMOTO 450 platform.

Using extensive dynamometer testing, ECU analysis, datalogging, and repeated calibration validation, we optimize the systems controlling fueling, ignition timing, throttle response, torque delivery, RPM limits, and thermal management.

The result is a stronger, smoother, and more responsive motorcycle that retains the factory functionality riders expect from an OEM-quality calibration.

OEM+ PERFORMANCE WITHOUT PIGGYBACKS

When we say OEM+, we mean improving the motorcycle through the factory ECU rather than adding unnecessary hardware to work around it.

There are no piggyback fuel controllers, no permanent ECU modifications, and no need to mail your ECU.

The motorcycle retains its factory electronics and functionality while allowing the ECU calibration itself to be properly optimized for performance.

MORE POWER WHERE YOU ACTUALLY USE IT

Peak horsepower only tells part of the story.

Our CFMOTO 450 ECU tune is developed to improve power and torque throughout the usable RPM range, including the throttle positions riders actually use on the street, in the canyons, and on the track.

We recalibrate the ECU at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% throttle rather than concentrating exclusively on wide-open-throttle dyno numbers.

This produces a motorcycle that feels stronger during normal acceleration, responds more quickly when the throttle is opened, and delivers more consistent power as engine speed increases.

Depending on throttle position and supporting airflow modifications, gains of approximately 3–7 HP are possible.

OPTIMIZED FUELING & IGNITION TIMING

Proper ECU tuning requires considerably more than simply adding fuel or advancing ignition timing.

Using our experience with Bosch motorcycle engine management systems, we analyze the factory calibration and optimize fueling and ignition strategy around the engine's actual requirements.

Fuel targets are revised to improve horsepower, torque, throttle response, and overall rideability while maintaining the consistency expected from a properly developed OEM style calibration.

Ignition timing is also recalibrated for 91+ octane fuel to improve engine performance without relying on unnecessarily aggressive timing strategies.

COMPLETE THROTTLE-MAP CALIBRATION

One of the most noticeable improvements from the BT Moto calibration is the change in how the motorcycle responds to the rider.

The factory ECU controls power differently depending on throttle position, engine speed, and operating conditions. Because of this, optimizing only wide-open throttle leaves a large portion of the riding experience untouched.

We recalibrate throttle behavior at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% throttle to provide stronger acceleration and smoother, more predictable power delivery across a wide range of riding conditions.

The result is improved drivability during normal street riding while still providing the stronger response enthusiasts expect when riding aggressively.

OPTIONAL RPM & SPEED LIMITER CHANGES

For riders looking for additional performance, an optional increased RPM limiter can extend the usable powerband.

This can be particularly beneficial during track riding, where carrying a gear slightly longer can reduce unnecessary shifting and help keep the motorcycle in the strongest portion of the power curve.

When combined with the appropriate speed limiter changes, the extended usable RPM range can also improve acceleration and maximum-speed capability where applicable.

RPM and speed-limiter modifications are optional and can be selected based on the rider's intended use.

FACTORY CLOSED-LOOP FUELING RETAINED

The BT Moto Stage 1 calibration retains the motorcycle's factory closed-loop oxygen sensor strategy.

This allows the ECU to continue monitoring and correcting fueling during normal operation, helping maintain excellent drivability, adaptive fueling, and fuel economy while still benefiting from the performance changes contained within our calibration.

There is no requirement for emissions-delete hardware to use the calibration.

IMPROVED HEAT MANAGEMENT

Performance tuning isn't only about making more horsepower.

We also refine the motorcycle's thermal management strategy to help maintain cooler and more consistent operating temperatures during demanding riding conditions.

The goal is to create a motorcycle that performs consistently whether you're commuting, riding aggressively on the street, or spending extended time on the track.
